What is your primary product or service?
CKC provides electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic interference testing services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The late Chris Kendall and his wife MarDell Kendall started CKC in 1973 after Chris had operated "captive" EMC laboratories at several large companies for over 10 year. MarDell continues to run CKC as the president and CEO today.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are able to tackle EMC testing challenges the other laboratories, quite honestly do not want to bother with. Whatever products our customers bring to us, we can get them tested properly and off to market in a timely manner. We also offer complete MIL STD and DO-160 (aircraft component) testing with capability and expertise that is unique in Northern California.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our lab in Fremont, CA is one of four CKC locations. The other 3 labs are located in Brea (Orange County), CA; Canyon Park (Seattle), WA; and Mariposa, CA (our headquarters).
Provide detailed directions to your location
CKC Fremont is certainly one of the most accessible EMC labs in the Bay Area. We are 1 block North of the intersection of Mission Blvd and Warm Springs Blvd. That intersection rests on the short strip of Mission Blvd running between I-880 and I-680.
What type of payments do you accept?
CKC will grant terms to clients on approved credit. Additionally, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express as well as company checks and wire transfers.
Which areas do you service?
CKC services all sectors of the electronics market including Avionics, Military, Medical, Security, Industrial, ITE, Residential, Test & Measurement and Wireless. Any electonics device with a operating clock and/or a transmitter needs EMC testing - we can provide it.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Our company is incorporated, but privatedly held by MarDell Kendall. Our day to day operations are managed by Steve Behm (engineering) and Todd Robinson (administration).
What are your hours of operation?
In Fremont, we typically operate from 8 AM to 5 PM. However, we are very flexible and can provide evening and weekend shifts as needed.
